We are delighted to announce that the following artists, innovators, and professional filmmakers will be judging the screenwriting competition:
Chinar Shah is an artist, writer, academic and occasional curator. Her work has been shown internationally in exhibitions at Galleri Box in Gothenburg, Tate Liverpool, and Kochi Biennial collateral. Shah has also been part of many international artist exchange programmes. She recently received grants from the prestigious Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation and Pronto – Göteborg Stad Kultur of the city of Gothenburg. She runs a domestic gallery called ‘Home Sweet Home’ in Bangalore, India. In 2018 Shah co-edited the publication Photography in India: From Archives to Contemporary Practice published by Bloomsbury, UK. She studied Literature and Cultural Studies at English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad and later did her PGDP in Photography from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She currently teaches photography and visual arts at Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore.
Francis Vose is a Senior Tutor in Professional Practice at Liverpool Hope University. Before joining Hope, he had a successful career as a film director and producer, receiving several EMMYs and BAFTAs for his work on animated television programmes and films. He continues to serve as a BAFTA judge. He teaches animation, photography, and filmmaking.
Roger McKinley is Head of Innovation at FACT. Previously as Production Manager he had responsibility for delivery of artists’ content and technology solutions to galleries across the UK. Since 2014 he helped establish and lead FACT’s Research and Innovation Department, finding new ways for FACT to forge business, creative and intellectual links across creative industries, arts practice and HE R&D. He is currently also Project Manager for the LCR Activate programme, a 3 year ERDF support programme for Creative Industries in the Liverpool City Region.
