Calls for Contributors and Papers

International Showcase: Experiencing Intersectionality: Other Perspectives, Other Lives, FACT, Liverpool (20 June 2019)

The showcase aims to be open-minded and intersectional in form and theme, as well as in relation to female identity, and so we welcome contributions from all backgrounds, across art forms and disciplines. Responses might therefore take the form of and/or critically engage with practices such as: photography, film, sculpture, painting, audio, music, archival work, fine art, textiles, creative writing, narrative & literature, virtual/augmented experience, oral history, poetry and performance.

The Call for Contributions can be viewed here and downloaded here. All proposals must be received by 26 April 2019.

Interrogating Intersectionality in a Global Perspective, Liverpool Hope University (21 June 2019)

This symposium is one component of a three-day programme of events, 20-22 June 2019, with 20 June set aside for a programme at FACT and 22 June at Bluecoat. As with the first conference, this symposium seeks to interrogate the potential and limitations of Intersectional approaches within a global context. In keeping with this broad-based agenda, the organisers seek contributions from any discipline and welcome interdisciplinary approaches. Because we have found that a small, focused symposium enables engaging and productive discussion, numbers will be limited to 30. The full Call for Papers can be viewed here and downloaded here.

The deadline for submission is 15 May 2019.

Proposals can be submitted here. If you have a query, please contact the conference organisers, Philomena Harrison at harrisp1@hope.ac.uk and Cindy Hamilton at hamiltc@hope.ac.uk.
